Making an Appointment Who Might Be Harmed and How: Staff & Clients Risk Rating (before measures): High What Control Measures are in Place: Upon confirming their appointment, the client should be advised that; The client must adhere to appointment times to reduce unsafe congestion in the salon; The client should arrive for their appointment alone to reduce unsafe congestion in the salon; The client should leave excess personal belongings at home or in their car to reduce possible transmission; If deemed safe to do so, refreshments will be available during the appointment, however, may be limited. The client is welcome to bring refreshments in a secure container. Risk Rating (after measures): Low
Arriving at the Salon Who Might Be Harmed and How: Staff & Clients through possible transmission Risk Rating (before measures): High What Control Measures are in Place: Before entering the building signage to be displayed at the entrance and also in the stairwell before the entrance of the the salon stating that: Staff and clients must not enter the salon if they or anyone in their household is showing signs of Coronavirus. Clients should phone the salon to re-book their appointment and follow government guidance of self-isolation Staff must phone in sick and self-isolate for 7 days. Health & Safety signage displayed to ensure clients are aware that we are committed to protecting them within the salon environment. Hand sanitiser is provided in the entrance of the building, along with appropriate signage asking staff and clients to sanitise hands and adhere to social distancing. Entering the Salon Who Might Be Harmed and How: Staff & Clients through possible transmission Risk Rating (before measures): High What Control Measures are in Place: Signage to be displayed throughout the salon alerting staff and clients to maintain social distancing within the salon environment. Immediately on entering the salon a sanitation area to be in place with appropriate signage alerting staff and clients that they must sanitise as they enter the salon or wash their hands using the facilities provided. PPE to be available for clients to prevent airborne spread. Staff starting their shift should enter the salon, wash their hands, then set up their working areas. Risk Rating (after measures): Low
Reception / Waiting Area Who Might Be Harmed and How: Staff & Clients through possible transmission Risk Rating (before measures): High What Control Measures are in Place: Health & Safety signage displayed to ensure clients are aware that we are committed to protecting them within the salon environment. Sneeze guard screens to be fitted to the reception desk to protect both staff and clients, and/or therapist to wear full face visor. The client should approach the reception desk ensuring a safe distance as outlined by floor markings. Extra seating provided to ensure social distancing, 3 separate areas, 1 area per client. The client should be advised that magazines are unable to be provided to reduce possible transmission. Prior to greeting clients, staff should ensure that hands are sanitised and full PPE is worn, to include a full face visor. Windows should be open, where possible, to provide adequate ventilation. Clients name and address to be taking for purposes of the Government Test and Trace. Risk Rating (after measures): Low
Consultation Who Might Be Harmed and How: Staff & Clients through possible transmission Risk Rating (before measures): High What Control Measures are in Place: Client to be taken straight away to treatment room or working area to reduce congestion in the reception, maintaining social distancing. Consultation to be carried out in treatment area maintaining social distancing. There should only be 1 therapist and 1 client in any working area at any one time. Windows should be open, where possible, to provide adequate ventilation. Risk Rating (after measures): Low
Treatment Who Might Be Harmed and How: Staff & Clients through possible transmission Risk Rating (before measures): High What Control Measures are in Place: Therapist to wear full PPE including full face visor throughout treatment. Face masks will be provided for client use. Social distancing should be adhered to where possible. Windows should be open, where possible, to provide adequate ventilation. After Treatment Who Might Be Harmed and How: Staff & Clients through possible transmission Risk Rating (before measures): High What Control Measures are in Place: Staff to continually wipe down all working areas, including treatment bed, chair, side table and treatment trolley, using disinfectant in between clients. Equipment and tools used should be cleaned and disinfected after use. A new sterilization unit is in place for tools after use. Staff should ensure that new PPE is used on each client. Towels and bed coverings should be washed after each use. Staff to ensure that waste bins containing disposed PPE is emptied and disposed of correctly on a regular basis. Checking Out Who Might Be Harmed and How: Staff & Clients through possible transmission when paying or making future appointments Risk Rating (before measures): High What Control Measures are in Place: The client should approach the reception desk ensuring a safe distance as outlined by the floor markings. Sneeze guard screens to be fitted to the reception desk to protect both staff and clients, and/ or therapist to wear full face visor. Therapist will submit the bill then step back while the client steps forward to make payment. The client should step back whilst the therapist then makes completes the transaction and rebook appointment. Staff to continually wipe down surfaces including reception desk, exit door and door handles, using disinfectant in between clients. Risk Rating (after measures): Low
Toilet Facilities Who Might Be Harmed and How: Staff & Clients through possible transmission Risk Rating (before measures): High What Control Measures are in Place: Usage restricted to one person at a time. Staff to ensure frequent cleaning of facilities and to ensure paper towels, hand wash and toilet paper are readily available. Staff to ensure that waste paper bin is emptied and disposed of correctly on a regular basis. Staff to continually wipe down surfaces including, door handles, toilet flush and seat, sink and tap, using disinfectant in between clients. Risk Rating (after measures): Low
Staff Facilities Who Might Be Harmed and How: Staff & Clients through possible transmission Risk Rating (before measures): High What Control Measures are in Place: Staff must take breaks individually. Social distancing must be adhered to during this time. Staff to ensure that crockery (cups, plates & cutlery) is not shared. Staff to adopt good housekeeping and to ensure all surfaces are wiped down after each use using disinfectant. Staff to be advised to leave excess personal at home to reduce possible transmission. Belongings to be stored away safely. Staff returning from their break should ensure hands are sanitised and full PPE is worn. Risk Rating (after measures): Low
