What is vitamin B12 and why do we need to supplement our diet with this?
Vitamin B12, also known as cobalamin, is a water-soluble vitamin that is essential for several critical functions in the body. It plays a key role in the formation of red blood cells, the functioning of the nervous system, synthesis of DNA, energy production and cognitive function.
Vitamin B12 deficiency can potentially cause severe and irreversible damage, especially to the brain and nervous system.
